These terms apply to custom plush-toy design, sampling and manufacturing projects supplied by Snuggle Squad (Pty) Ltd, registration 2023/882719/07. Read them together with your accepted written quotation, approved physical sample and final specifications. Any project-specific variation must be agreed in writing. Mandatory legal rights take precedence.
Our minimum order is 300 units per design and size. Different designs or sizes cannot be combined to reach that minimum. For example, a plush toy and a keyring version each require their own 300-unit order. We do not manufacture one-off custom plush items.
Your quotation confirms the design, quantity, size, price, VAT treatment, included work, payment schedule, delivery basis and quotation validity. Submitting an enquiry does not place an order. The project proceeds only after the written quotation and the relevant development or production approvals have been accepted.
The usual initial design and sample-development fee is up to R3,500 excluding VAT per design, depending on complexity, as confirmed in your quotation before work starts. It is payable before development begins and covers the initial physical prototype and the revision scope agreed in the quotation.
The sample-development fee is credited against the corresponding final bulk production order if the approved design proceeds to the full production order. Extra designs, additional samples, accessories or revisions outside the agreed scope are quoted separately and require your agreement.
Once development begins, the sample-development fee is non-refundable for a change of mind, subject to applicable law and your rights if we fail to provide the agreed service.
You must approve the physical sample and final specifications in writing before bulk production. Approval covers the size, materials, colours, branding, embroidery or printing, stuffing, accessories, sewn labels, hang tags and other agreed features. Digital renders and mockups are indicative and do not replace physical-sample approval.
Please check all artwork, wording and details carefully. Any material change from the approved sample or specifications must be agreed in writing before proceeding.
Unless your accepted quotation expressly states otherwise, a 70% production deposit is payable after written approval of the physical sample. The 30% balance is payable when the goods are ready to ship, before release or dispatch.
Bulk production starts after acceptance of the quotation, written sample and specification approval, and clearance of the required deposit. Freight, testing and other separately quoted charges are payable as set out in the quotation.
A typical project takes approximately 3–4 months overall. These are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates unless a fixed commitment is expressly agreed in writing. Approval or payment delays, design changes, material availability, factory schedules, freight and customs can affect timing. Tell us about an event deadline before accepting the quotation. Urgent production or air freight must be separately agreed and quoted.
Changes to an approved design, quantity, materials, size, branding, packaging or delivery arrangement may add cost and delay. We will confirm the proposed effect on price and timing in writing before carrying out the change. Work already completed and non-recoverable commitments remain chargeable, subject to applicable law.
Bulk goods must reasonably conform to the approved physical sample and written specifications. Minor manufacturing variations in colour, materials, dimensions, stuffing or finish may occur. Any specific tolerances must be agreed in writing. Normal variation does not permit a material departure from the agreed specification, an unapproved substitution or a safety defect.
You confirm that you own, or have the necessary permission to use and manufacture, the names, logos, characters, artwork and other materials you supply. You retain ownership of your original artwork and brand assets; third-party rights remain with their owners.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Snuggle Squad retains ownership of the plush patterns, technical specifications, development files and production methods it creates. Payment of a sample fee or production invoice does not by itself transfer those materials. Any transfer or licence must be expressly agreed in writing.
Please identify the intended users, age group and destination markets before sampling. The quotation confirms the agreed safety and washing labels, testing, documentation and any additional testing or certification charges. Destination-specific requirements must be agreed for the particular design; a prototype or general factory report does not automatically certify every product for every market. Applicable statutory safety responsibilities remain in place.
Standard sewn labels and hang tags are included as confirmed in the quotation. Custom packaging is not part of our standard offer. Any additional packaging requirement must be discussed and expressly agreed before ordering.
The quotation confirms the dispatch point, delivery destination, shipping method, included freight, insurance, customs responsibilities and taxes. Orders may be supplied through Cape Town or shipped directly from our manufacturing partners to your destination if agreed. Air freight, urgent delivery and other non-standard arrangements are quoted separately. Delivery and other charges are payable on the basis stated in the accepted quotation.
Custom-made goods are not returnable for a change of mind where the law permits that exclusion. Approved bulk production cannot ordinarily be cancelled once it has started. Contact us immediately if you need to change or cancel a project.
Any agreed cancellation will take account of completed development and production work, committed materials and non-recoverable third-party costs. We will explain the charges and any balance due or refundable in writing. This does not exclude remedies for defective goods, non-supply or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Please inspect your delivery promptly and report any damage, shortages or manufacturing defects in writing to orders@snugglesquad.co.za, preferably within 7 days of receipt. Include your order reference, photographs, the affected quantities and a description of the issue. Prompt reporting helps us investigate; the seven-day request does not limit statutory rights.
We assess concerns against the approved sample, specifications and applicable law. Where the Consumer Protection Act applies, its rights and remedies for unsafe or defective goods remain available, including the applicable right to repair, replacement or refund. Stop using any item that may be unsafe and contact us immediately.
Project materials may be shared with manufacturing, testing and logistics partners as needed to quote and fulfil the project, with appropriate confidentiality and privacy safeguards. Please agree any special confidentiality requirements before supplying sensitive materials. Read our Privacy & Cookies Policy for information about personal data.

South African law applies, subject to mandatory rights in any applicable jurisdiction. These terms supplement our Website Terms & Conditions and Returns Policy. For a custom project, the accepted written project-specific agreement and these custom-order terms take precedence over conflicting general website wording, subject always to mandatory law. Later website updates do not retrospectively change an already accepted order.
